Seongsu's Best 3 Restaurants — Where Locals Actually Line Up, Not Tourists

Seongsu is known for its cafe streets, but at mealtimes it turns into a completely different neighborhood. Forget the SNS-famous spots — these are the places locals actually wait in line for. The menus are approachable too: boiled pork, grilled pork, and burgers that anyone can enjoy easily.

#1. Family Hand-Cut Noodles & Bossam — Three Generations Since 1988

A noodle soup and bossam (boiled pork) spot that's been run by the same family for three generations since 1988. The signature is rich bone-broth noodle soup paired with juicy bossam, and the lunch line of office workers and regulars gets long.

- Location: 134 Wangsimni-ro, Seongdong-gu, Seoul

- Hours: 11:30–22:00 (open daily)

- Tip: Go slightly off the lunch peak and you can walk right in.

#2. Namyeongdon Seongsu — Proper Charcoal-Grilled Pork

The Seongsu branch of a spot often ranked among "Seoul's top 3 pork restaurants." The signature is pork belly, pork jowl, and pork neck grilled over real charcoal. The original location can have a multi-hour wait, but the Seongsu branch is more spacious and relatively relaxed.

- Location: 32 Seongsuiro 16-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul

- Hours: Daily 11:30–23:00

- Tip: Weekend evenings still get busy, so weekdays or early evenings are best.

#3. Zesty Saloon Seongsu — Famous for Its Wasabi Shrimp Burger

A gourmet burger spot near Seoul Forest. The signature wasabi shrimp burger has straightforward ingredients, so it's easy to order even if you're visiting from abroad. Great for a quick, easy meal.

- Location: 1F, 13 Seoulsup 4-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul

- Note: Being a burger place, there's no language barrier — pairs well with a walk through Seoul Forest.

+ Bonus. Seongsu Jokbal — Since 1983, One of Seoul's Top 3 Jokbal Spots

If you're feeling a little adventurous, this one's worth it. Running since 1983, it's famous enough to be called one of "Seoul's top 3 jokbal (braised pig's trotter) spots." The shop itself is small, so most people take it to go, and it's popular enough that it can sell out early in the evening.

- Location: 1F Dongjin Building, 7 Achasan-ro 7-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul (turn right out of Seongsu Station Exit 1)

- Hours: 12:00–22:00 (break 15:00–17:00, takeout still available)

- Tip: No reservations, and evening sellouts are common — go early on a weekday afternoon and grab it to go.
