Lifting Treatments in Korea: The Complete Guide to Ultherapy, Thermage, Shurink, ONDA and More

The best lifting treatment in Korea is not the most famous device. It is the one that reaches the layer where your skin is actually losing support. Seoul clinics offer more non-surgical lifting options than almost anywhere in the world, and most names (Shurink, Oligio, ONDA, Eve Titan) mean little outside Korea. This guide sorts them by how they work, what they fix, how much downtime they leave, and how often people repeat them, so you can walk into a consultation knowing what to ask for.

How non-surgical lifting works: four types of energy

Every lifting device heats tissue below the surface. The heat makes existing collagen contract right away and triggers new collagen over the following two to three months. What differs is the type of energy and how deep it lands.

• Focused ultrasound (HIFU): Ultherapy Prime, Shurink Universe, Cool Soniq. Energy is focused into tiny points as deep as the SMAS, the muscle-fascia layer a surgeon tightens in a facelift. Best for sagging and a softening jawline.
• Radiofrequency (RF): Thermage FLX, Oligio, Eve Titan, InMode, Potenza Diamond Lifting. Heat spreads evenly through the dermis. Best for crepey texture, fine lines and overall firmness.
• Microwave: ONDA. Targets the fat layer, so it slims and tightens at the same time. Best for heavy lower cheeks and a double chin.

Device by device: what each one actually does

Ultherapy Prime (Ulthera)

Ultherapy is the benchmark for non-surgical lifting and is FDA-cleared to lift the brow, under the chin and the neck. The Prime model shows a live ultrasound image of your tissue, so the practitioner sees each layer before placing energy. It is the strongest option for visible sagging along the jawline. Expect firm, snapping sensations over bone, then results that build for two to three months.

Good for: jowls, sagging cheeks, a heavy brow. 

Skip if: your concern is mainly texture or fine lines.

Shurink Universe

Shurink Universe is a Korean HIFU device by Classys, often described as the everyday alternative to Ultherapy. It reaches the same SMAS layer with less discomfort, and a newer line-pattern mode delivers energy without gaps. Because it is gentler, people repeat it more often. It is the most common first lifting treatment in Korea.

Good for: first-timers, jawline definition, light maintenance between stronger treatments.

Cool Soniq

Cool Soniq is a HIFU device with a chilled contact tip. Cooling lets it deliver more energy than standard HIFU while keeping the session comfortable. Its tip is shaped for curved areas such as around the mouth and the side of the jaw.

Good for: patients who want HIFU lifting but are sensitive to pain.

Sofwave

Sofwave is FDA-cleared for wrinkles and for lifting the brow, under the chin and the neck. It holds its ultrasound energy at a depth of 1.5 mm, in the mid-dermis, so it does not touch the fat layer. That makes it a strong choice for thin faces that cannot afford to lose volume.

Good for: fine and deep wrinkles, crepey skin, slim faces.

Thermage FLX

Thermage is the best-known radiofrequency treatment worldwide. It heats the deep dermis evenly while a cooling system protects the surface, and it is one of the few devices used on the eyelids. Results are firmer, smoother skin rather than a dramatic lift. Thermage is often paired with Ultherapy, a combination Korean clinics call "Ulthermage".

Good for: loose, crepey skin, hooded eyelids, overall firmness.

Oligio

Oligio is a Korean monopolar RF device that works on the same principle as Thermage at a lighter intensity. Recovery is fast and the treatment is comfortable, so it suits a shorter repeat cycle.

Good for: firmness maintenance, first RF experience, an eye-area version for crepey lids.

ONDA

ONDA uses microwave energy, which targets fat more than skin. A 3 mm tip treats thin skin and a 7 mm tip reaches deeper fat, so it slims and tightens at the same time. It is the go-to choice for a double chin or a heavy lower face.

Good for: double chin, jowl fullness, body contouring on arms and abdomen.

Eve Titan

Eve Titan combines radiofrequency heat with EMS, electrical muscle stimulation that works the mid-face muscles. The result is a lifted, more defined mid-face with no visible downtime.

Good for: a pre-event refresh, flattening mid-face, people who want zero downtime.

InMode FX and FORMA
