This client also had concerns about dark lips with a strong purple tone from the start.

Dark lips are not simply solved by adding pink color.

If the procedure is done without considering the existing lip color, the purple tone may still show through or the color may appear muddy, so 

the first important step is naturally neutralizing the purple tone of the lips.
