A trip to Korea is short, but semi-permanent makeup needs time to settle after your appointment. Many travelers wonder, "Should I get it done right when I arrive?" or "Is it okay to do it just before I fly home?" Here is how lips and brows actually change, day by day. (Everyone heals a little differently.)

Lips: Vivid at first, then they look faded after about a week
- Days 1-3 after your treatment: The color looks stronger than usual.
- Around day 3: The surface starts to peel, like flaking skin.
- Around day 7: The color looks almost gone. Don't worry. This is just the pigment settling into your own lips.
- After one month: A color that suits your lips has settled in.

Brows: Much less change than lips
- Days 3-4 after your treatment: Slightly darker than the final look.
- Day 7: They look noticeably faded. Even so, brows flake far less than lips.
- After one month: Natural-looking brows that blend into your skin.

So when should you get it done?
For lips, we recommend one or two days before you fly home. Around day 3 the lips start to peel, which can feel a bit awkward in photos if you are still sightseeing. Getting them done right before departure means that stage passes after you are home. Brows are fine at any point of your trip. They are not much trouble.
(Example: on a 5-day, 4-night trip, get your brows done any time after you arrive and your lips 1-2 days before departure.)

The first week after your treatment
Lips
- Take a break from heavy exercise, swimming, and saunas.
- Avoid spicy or hot food, raw food, and alcohol.
- It is best to avoid kissing, too.
- Apply lip balm often. It plays a very important role in helping the color settle into your lips.
Brows
- Do not rub the treated area hard when washing your face.
- Skip saunas, swimming, and workouts that make you sweat a lot.
- Avoid UV exposure.
- Do not rub or scratch your brows.
We give you a regeneration cream after your treatment. For brows, use it only when they feel uncomfortable. For lips, apply the lip balm you already have as often as you like.

If you can't come back for a retouch
Many travelers are not able to return for a retouch, so we start with a slightly more defined color. If the color goes in very naturally from the beginning, what remains after it fades can feel a little disappointing. Looking a bit darker right after your treatment is a natural part of the process.
