Key summary: Rejuran (PN, salmon-derived), Juvelook (PDLLA+HA, synthetic), and Re2O (human ECM) are not competing versions of the same procedure. They introduce different substances that do different things to the skin. There is no clinical trial directly comparing the three โ€” anyone ranking them is talking about launch order, not evidence.

The last line is what most people miss. Weโ€™ll come back to it.

2. What each product tells the skin to do

Rejuran โ€” sends a repair signal

PharmaResearch describes PN as a substance that induces tissue regeneration. Once injected, the polynucleotide acts like a โ€œrepair signalโ€ within the skin, attracting water to hydrate the tissue and creating an environment for skin cells to regenerate, while supporting fibroblasts that produce collagen and elastin.

The manufacturer describes PN and PDRN as regenerative medicine ingredients made from DNA fragments isolated from salmon testis cells, and notes that PN has a longer nucleic acid chain than PDRN.

Logic: Your cells are capable of working โ€” they just need to be told.

Manufacturer lineup: Rejuran Healer for texture and elasticity, Rejuran HB+ for hydration-focused treatment, and Rejuran i for the eye area with a low concentration and fine needle.

Juvelook โ€” creates a controlled construction site

Vaim positions Juvelook as a hybrid. The HA component provides immediate hydration and radiance, while PDLLA-induced collagen develops gradually over the following weeks.

The interesting part is the particle design. Vaim has patented a PDLLA manufacturing technology that creates porous, network-like microparticles, which the company says is designed to maximize the surface area used for collagen induction while minimizing the nodule risk often associated with polylactic acid injectables. Unlike the crystalline particles of PLLA, which can cause granulomas if injected incorrectly, PDLLA uses amorphous spherical particles.

Logic: Gently stimulate the skin and it will rebuild itself. The result comes from the response, not the material.

Re2O โ€” supplies the material itself

Re2O does not send a signal or stimulate. It places human extracellular matrix into the dermis.

According to a Yonsei University clinical paper (Int J Mol Sci 2026;27(5):2193), the composition is about 80% collagen, 3% elastin, and 0.4% sGAG, with residual DNA below 50ng/mg. Electron microscopy showed that even after particle formation, the alignment of collagen fibers and the characteristic D-banding pattern were preserved โ€” meaning the ECM structure withstood particleization.

In a mouse model, fibroblasts migrated into the matrix within one week of injection, and new collagen formed at the interface between the matrix and host tissue.

Logic: If the framework itself has collapsed, supply the framework.

The ECM mechanism of Re2O is covered in more depth in the article โ€œPutting collagen into the skin โ€” the Re2O and ECM story.โ€

3. Three different bets

Remove the branding, and each product is a bet on โ€œwhat is the problem?โ€

ProductBet
RejuranThe cells have become lazy โ†’ send a signal
JuvelookStimulate it and it will rebuild โ†’ stimulate precisely
Re2OThe structural material is depleted โ†’ supply the material

None of these bets has ever been validated against the others. Re2Oโ€™s only randomized clinical trial used non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid as the control โ€” not Rejuran, and not Juvelook. The other two also have their own clinical studies with their own control groups.

Three consistent theories, three separate evidence bases, zero direct comparisons. That is the honest state of the field in 2026.

4. What each manufacturer positions it for

I canโ€™t tell you which is better. But I can show you what each company says its product is for, and you can see that they are aiming at different targets.

Rejuran (PharmaResearch): skin texture, elasticity, hydration, and fine lines around the eyes โ€” a lineup segmented by area and concentration.

Juvelook (Vaim): 50mg for texture improvement, volume (200mg) for deeper volume replenishment. Usually a 3-session course at 1-month intervals. The fine particle version is suitable for thin, delicate areas such as under the eyes and around the mouth.

Re2O (L&C Bio): dermal density, volume, elasticity, pore area, wrinkle depth, barrier function, pigmentation. Yonseiโ€™s clinical study confirmed significant differences versus HA at multiple time points in these measures. The lineup is divided by particle size โ€” the standard 100ใŽ› for thicker areas, and the fine about 50ใŽ› for thin skin.

Read the three paragraphs again. They are not describing the same thing.

5. The timelines are different โ€” especially if youโ€™re flying

OnsetPractical meaning
Rejuran3 to 4 sessions at 2 to 4 week intervalsMultiple visits required
Juvelook3 sessions at 1-month intervalsHA gives the early effect, collagen follows
Re2OClinical data up to 20 weeks, with 3 months as the point of equivalenceAppears the latest

That last line is the one that deserves emphasis, and itโ€™s the one most clinics leave out.

In a 202-patient randomized trial of microparticle ADM (Aesth Plast Surg 2026;50:3710โ€“19), patient satisfaction at 6 weeks was significantly lower than in the collagen filler control group (67.4% vs 83.9%). Early pain was 40.7% vs 10.1%, and swelling was 45.4% vs 13.5%. By 3 months, the difference disappeared and the results became similar (3 months 88.4% vs 85.4%, 6 months 70.9% vs 69.7%).

The authors explain the early response with physics rather than biology. mADM particles need to be dense and firm for mechanical support, so 23G or 25G needles are required rather than 27G. 78% of local adverse reactions resolved without any treatment.

If you go home at week 4, youโ€™ll be at the lowest point in the curve. That is not a side effect. Itโ€™s the original timeline. But because no one tells you, people end up thinking they were fooled. You were not.

6. The skipped line: availability

Go back to table 1.

Rejuran travels. It is the only PN-based medical device approved under the EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR), and it has distribution agreements in 22 European countries including the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain.

Juvelook travels too. It has approval from Koreaโ€™s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, CE certification in Europe, and Thai FDA approval โ€” but no U.S. approval.

Re2O does not travel โ€” and this is not a marketing line.

Re2O is not classified as a medical device. In Korea, it is regulated as human tissue. Medical devices receive product-specific indication approvals and are exported through medical-device pathways. Human tissue operates under a completely different system โ€” donor consent, tissue bank certification, lot-level traceability, and country-specific import rules.

The Yonsei researchers state plainly that, until their paper, there had been no clinical study of injectable hADM as a primary dermal scaffold. It is a new category, and most countries have not built aesthetic-use pathways for the regulatory route that category has to pass through.

Practical situation: PN and PDLLA are available in London, Bangkok, and Milan. Human ECM boosters exist in this form only where tissue regulations allow them. That is Korea.

That is exactly why Korea is now tightening the rules. As of March 2026, the MFDS is reviewing legal revisions that would restrict cosmetic advertising for human tissue products and require patients to be informed that they are tissue-derived.

The country writing stricter rules for a category is not the one that should make you nervous. Itโ€™s the opposite.

7. So what should you get

This is where most articles give you a fake answer. Weโ€™ll give you the real boundary.

What the evidence supports:

  • These substances do different things โ€” established
  • The manufacturers position them for different goals โ€” documented above
  • Re2O outperformed non-crosslinked HA on multiple measures โ€” Yonsei RCT, n=20, 20 weeks
  • Microparticle ADM was equivalent to collagen filler at 3 and 6 months, with less product and additional injections, but more early reactions โ€” 202-patient RCT

What nobody can support with evidence:

  • Claims that one is better than the others
  • Claims that there is a generational hierarchy
  • Claims that one of them is right for a patient who has never been examined

Diore takes this approach

Enough hydration and UV protection help recovery

There is no answer in a product. There is only a face.

Rejuran-specific notes

Dermal thickness differs even within the same cheek. In some cases, the temples need structure while the eye area needs signaling โ€” in the same procedure, on the same face. Skin whose main issue is pores and skin whose main issue is sagging can look identical in photos while requiring completely opposite answers.

One session alone is unlikely to create a dramatic change. The effect accumulates with repeated treatments

That is why we do not name a product before the examination. Not because of principle, but because it is impossible. The information needed to answer that question does not exist until we actually look at the skin.

Because it contains human-derived ingredients, general allergic reactions are very rare, but temporary swelling and redness may occur

Clinics that tell you which booster you need from photos or messages are not diagnosing. They are taking orders.

Frequently asked questions

Which one is the best?

There is no study directly comparing them. Anyone answering this question is guessing or selling.

Can I get Re2O in my country?

Almost certainly not. Not because it is exclusive, but because most countries have not extended the regulatory system for human tissue products into the aesthetic space. By contrast, Rejuran and Juvelook are available in most of Europe and Asia.

Is human-derived tissue safe?

The raw material has a long history in reconstructive surgery. L&C Bio states that it uses tissue donated by U.S. donors with consent for aesthetic use, and that the process includes AATB certification, FDA listing of the raw material, MFDS approval, viral inactivation, and mandatory lot-number recording for transplantation. Still, if the concept makes you uncomfortable, that is a valid reason to choose differently. Tell us, and we will plan accordingly.

Can I have them together?

The order and spacing depend on your skin condition and schedule. This is not a menu question; it is a medical question.

How long does Re2O last?

Published follow-up ends at 20 weeks. Beyond that, nobody knows โ€” including us. If a clinic gives you longer numbers, ask for the evidence.
