That tiny spot that keeps bothering you
| Concern | Detail |
|---|---|
| It shows up in every close-up selfie. | Filters can't always hide it |
| I feel shy making eye contact. | Dates, interviews, meetings... |
| Makeup can't cover the eye itself. | Concealer stops at the lash line |
| Is it safe? Is it getting bigger? | Not sure who to ask |
There's no need to simply live with it — let a specialist take a closer look.
A pigmented spot on the white of the eye
A conjunctival nevus is a cluster of pigment cells on the conjunctiva — the thin, clear membrane covering the white of the eye. It's the most common pigmented spot of the eye, often present since childhood and becoming more noticeable over time.
| Characteristic | Description |
|---|---|
| Usually doesn't affect vision | Most nevi are benign. |
| A common cosmetic concern | Visible in photos & up close. |
| Any change needs an exam | Size, color or shape. |
It may look like a simple spot, but it deserves an exam
We recommend a consultation if any of these apply to you.
- A brown or dark spot on the white of your eye bothers you
- The spot has grown larger or darker than before
- It looks more noticeable when your eyes are tired or red
- A new pigmented spot appeared recently
- The shape is irregular or the borders are unclear
| Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Typical nevus | Round shape, clear borders, even color |
| Needs a careful check | Irregular shape, blurred borders, uneven or darkening color |
Most conjunctival nevi are benign, but if you notice any change, please see an eye specialist.
The right method for your spot
After checking the location, depth, size and color of the nevus, our ophthalmologist chooses laser or radiofrequency (RF) treatment to remove it precisely while protecting the surrounding tissue.
Option 1: Laser Treatment
Laser energy is precisely aimed at the pigment, breaking down the melanin in shallow, flat spots. Quick and comfortable, with minimal impact on the surrounding conjunctiva.

Option 2: Radiofrequency (RF) Treatment

Diagnosis first — we treat only when it's needed
We never remove a spot just because it's there. We first check its condition, then guide you to the right treatment.
| Step | Title | Description |
|---|---|---|
| 01 | Specialist consultation | We check the location, size, color and any changes of the nevus. |
| 02 | Treatment check | A slit-lamp exam decides whether treatment is suitable and which method fits. |
| 03 | Numbing drops & treatment | After anesthetic eye drops, the spot is treated precisely in about 5-10 minutes. |
| 04 | Aftercare guidance | Eye drops, aftercare tips and a follow-up visit to check healing. |
Frequently asked questions
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| What is a conjunctival nevus? Is it dangerous? | A conjunctival nevus is a cluster of pigment cells on the conjunctiva, the thin clear membrane covering the white of the eye. It is the most common pigmented spot of the eye and is usually benign, with little effect on vision. However, if it changes in size, color or shape, it should be examined by an eye specialist. |
| Does the treatment hurt? How long does it take? | Anesthetic eye drops are applied before treatment to keep you comfortable. The procedure itself takes about 5-10 minutes. |
| When should I have my eye spot checked? | We recommend a consultation if the spot has grown larger or darker, a new pigmented spot has appeared, or its shape is irregular or its borders are unclear. Most conjunctival nevi are benign, but any change should be checked by an ophthalmologist. |
| Who performs the treatment? | Every conjunctival nevus treatment is performed personally by our Medical Director, from examination to treatment. |
| Do I need to book in advance? | Yes. Advance reservation is required. Please contact us via WhatsApp or the online consultation form to book your visit before coming to the clinic. |
| Laser or RF — which one will I get? Can I return to daily life right away? | Your ophthalmologist decides between laser and radiofrequency (RF) treatment after examining the location, depth, size and color of the nevus. Most people can resume daily activities quickly after treatment, but you may feel some discomfort such as irritation or redness for a while, and recovery varies from person to person. |
