Re2O skin booster is an injectable made from human-derived dermal matrix (ECM) that places collagen and elastin structure directly into thin, tired skin, instead of only signalling your skin to rebuild it. In Korea, where it is officially available, a session takes about an hour including numbing, visible downtime is usually two to three days, and you can fly home the next day.

What is Re2O skin booster?

Re2O (Elravie Re2O) is made by L&C Bio and distributed in Korea by Humedix. The name stands for "Return to your 20s." It starts as donated human skin, screened to American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) standards. The cells and DNA are removed, leaving only the extracellular matrix (ECM): the mesh of collagen and elastin that holds skin together. That matrix is milled into fine particles of about 75 µm.

In Korea, Re2O is licensed as a human tissue product through the tissue bank system, not as a drug or medical device. The same kind of acellular dermal matrix has been used for years in breast reconstruction and burn care. Before injection, the powder is mixed with saline, local anaesthetic or hyaluronic acid (HA).

How it works: Rejuran and Juvelook stimulate your skin to make new collagen. Re2O supplies the building material itself, and your own cells move into that scaffold and settle there.

What the evidence says: The main published trial is Lee et al., 2026, in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences(ClinicalTrials.gov NCT07155278). A Yonsei University team ran a randomised, double-blind split-face study in 20 adults aged 30 to 65. One side of the face got Re2O with HA; the other got HA alone. Over 20 weeks, the Re2O side scored better on skin density, volume, elasticity, wrinkle depth, pore area, hydration and barrier function. The difference showed from week 1, and no serious adverse events were reported.

The limits are worth knowing. Twenty people is too few to catch rare side effects, follow-up stopped at 20 weeks, and some authors were involved in developing the product.

Re2O vs Rejuran and other skin boosters

Downtime is typical and varies by person, dose and technique.

In short: Rejuran repairs, Juvelook and Sculptra stimulate, and Re2O rebuilds skin structure directly. Re2O is not simply "better" than Rejuran; it targets a different problem. If a human tissue product does not sit right with you for personal or religious reasons, Rejuran (salmon DNA) or Juvelook (PDLLA) are good alternatives.

Re2O

Good for: thin, crepey skin, fine lines, enlarged pores, rough texture and early hollowing around the eyes and cheeks. Pair it with: Ultherapy or Thermage on the same day, so the deeper layers are lifted while Re2O works on skin quality.

Rejuran Healer

Good for: sensitive or dull skin, skin stressed by sun or travel, and barrier recovery. Pair it with: Re2O in the same session when skin needs both repair and structure.

Juvelook

Good for: fine lines, uneven texture and shallow acne scars, with results building over several weeks. Pair it with:Potenza microneedling RF for scars and pores.

Sculptra

Good for: gradual volume restoration where fat and bone loss have hollowed the face. Pair it with: Re2O for skin quality. A useful rule: Re2O for skin thickness, fillers for shape (see our lip filler guide).

cc vs mg: how to know you are getting a full Re2O dose

One vial of Re2O contains 150 mg of ECM. A "cc" figure only tells you the total volume after dilution, not how much ECM is inside. A 5 cc treatment can be one full vial or much less. In the clinical trial, about 56 mg went into each side of the face.

Demand surged in late 2025 and supply ran short for a while. The manufacturer reported about 80,000 vials a month by mid-2026 and is expanding, but high demand makes dilution practices vary between clinics. This is the worry behind many Reddit posts about Re2O in Korea.

Before treatment, ask three questions:

1. Can I see the sealed vial and its label?
2. How many milligrams will you inject, and where?
3. Can I get a written record in English of the product, dose, areas and date?

One session or three? Re2O for travelers

Korean clinics often recommend three sessions one month apart. That plan does not work for most visitors. A single session is enough for many people to see a change, and the trial measured a difference from the first week. If you return to Seoul later, you can top up then.

How long does it last? The trial followed patients for 20 weeks, so data beyond that point is not yet available. Clinics often quote around six months, but individual results vary and long-term studies are still needed.

Re2O downtime: traveler checklist

Key points: expect two to three days of marks, makeup the next day, flights from the next day, and book at least two to three days before photos. Unlike HA filler, Re2O has no dissolving agent, which is why technique and an experienced injector matter.

Talk to the doctor first if you: form keloids or raised scars; have an autoimmune condition or take immunosuppressants; take aspirin, warfarin or other blood thinners; are pregnant or breastfeeding; have active acne, cold sores or dermatitis in the area; or have a history of severe allergy.

Can you get Re2O in the US, UK, Canada or Australia?

As of October 2026, Re2O is officially exported only to Singapore and Japan. It has no US FDA approval or European CE mark, and approvals in Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, Hong Kong and Russia are still pending. Korea is therefore the most reliable place to get the genuine, officially distributed product. Keep your English treatment record, because a top-up at home may not be possible.

FAQ

How long does RE20 last?

The clinical trial followed patients for 20 weeks, and improvements were still present at the end of that period. Results beyond 20 weeks have not been studied yet. Many clinics quote around six months, but this varies with age, skin condition and dose.

Is RE20 skin booster safe?

In the 2026 split-face trial, no serious adverse events were reported, and the donor tissue is screened and stripped of cells and DNA. The trial was small, so rare side effects cannot be ruled out. The most common effects are needle marks, redness and bruising; small lumps are rare.

Is Re2O better than Rejuran?

Neither is simply better; they solve different problems. Rejuran is a repair booster made from salmon DNA, suited to sensitive or stressed skin. Re2O supplies skin structure directly and suits thin skin, fine lines and pores. Many patients combine the two.

What are the differences between Re20 and CellREDM?

Both are human-derived ECM skin boosters, so the basic idea is the same. They differ in processing and particle size; CellREDM is known for very fine particles. Your doctor chooses based on skin thickness, treatment area and goals.

Can I fly after Re2O?

Yes, from the next day. If you have photos or events soon after your trip, book Re2O at least two to three days before you leave so needle marks and redness have time to settle.
