⚠️ 6. Safety Guidelines Before Your Physical Exam

[General Instructions]

• 7 Days Before: Stop taking antithrombotic drugs and aspirin (consult your doctor first).

• 2 Days Before: Stop taking vitamins, immune boosters, and dietary supplements. Stop METFORMIN (diabetes medication) if taking a CT scan.

• Day of Exam: Do not take oral diabetes medication. Take asthma, blood pressure, and heart medications with a small sip of water in the morning.

• Notice: Inform us in advance if you have diabetes (for PET-CT), metallic implants (pacemaker, etc.), or claustrophobia (cannot undergo MRI).

[Gastroscopy / Colonoscopy Preparation]

• 7 Days Before: Avoid mixed grain rice, seaweeds, raw vegetables, tough/fibrous vegetables, beans, sesame seeds, red pepper powder, fruits with seeds, nuts, and corn.

• 3~5 Days Before: Avoid alcohol (may make sedatives ineffective).

• 1 Day Before: Consume only soft foods (porridge, clear broth, eggs, pudding, castella, milk). Finish your last meal by 5-6 PM.

• Day of Procedure: Stop drinking water 3 hours before your arrival time. Remove gel nail polish from fingers and toes. (※ If a polyp is found and removed during colonoscopy, costs may vary from 1,000,000 to 3,000,000 KRW, and a 1-day hospitalization may be required.)
